Protecting your privacy is important to First State Bank, our employees, and our affiliates.  We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it.  In order to provide our customers with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information.  The following policy serves as a standard for all First State Bank employees for collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information.

  • Information about your transactions with us or others

  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with Federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.  For example, non public personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.

What Information We Collect on this Web Site

Visitors to this bank Web site remain anonymous.  We do not collect identifying information about visitors to our site.  We may collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as:

  • Date and time our site was accessed

  •  IP Address (A numeric address given to servers connected to the Internet)

  • Web browser used

  • City, State and Country

The bank uses this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on our site.  Visitors may elect to provide us with personal information.  This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender’s request.  It is not disseminated or sold to other organizations.

Our Security Procedures

We also take steps to safeguard customer information.  We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.  Employees who violate these standards will be subject to disciplinary measures.  We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

PRIVACY NOTICE

The First State Bank is chartered under the laws of the State of Texas and by state law is subject to regulatory oversight by the Texas Department of Banking. Any consumer wishing to file a complaint against the First State Bank should contact the Texas Department of Banking.

The First State Bank also engages in the money transmission business as an authorized delegate of VISA Travelers Cheques under Chapter 151 of the Texas Finance Code. After first contacting VISA Travelers Cheques, a customer that still has an unresolved complaint regarding the company’s money transmission activity should direct the complaint to the Texas Department of Banking.
